an opportunity in AI
When ChatGPT first got popular in November 2022, the use cases of generative AI in content creation were largely untapped.
Many people were still getting to grips with prompting and just understanding how exactly this technology worked. Through a simple prompt we could get generate human like text and so much more.
At the time, I was curious as to what could be achieved using generative AI so I can began prompting with a particular interest in image generation.
creating a brand to release content under called “asycd”
I didn’t want to release under my own name because I thought you had more freedom to create whatever you wanted if of course, you was anonymous.
The brand name “asycd” is an acronym for “always something you can do”. This phrase has multiple interpretations, which we will explore in this article.
Now that we had our brand name, we was ready to begin prompting and uploading the highlights on social media.
asycd and optimism
The biggest reason why Asycd still exists today and it not one of those diary projects that never saw the light of day is because of optimism. I believe there always something you can do, another way you can approach a problem, another way to create art. Possibilities are endless and that is why we continue to try new things and innovate with the help of AI.
It started with the art but developed into research and even software development. Our first piece of proprietary software released in October of 2023 and it is used for content creation purposes till this day.
a focus on art with a psychedelic touch
There has always been a dedication to trying to go beyond traditional artistic expression. With the help of AI, we don’t need to be stonewalled by our own style, we can adopt different styles!
With that said, we like to stray away from creating art that is trying to mimic real-life images in favour of cartoon, animated, and abstract works that capture the imagination thanks to our advanced prompt engineering.
A particular style that is synonymous with Asycd, is the psychedelic / minimal art style, which we experiment with to produce trippy visuals that challenges the conventional boundaries of perception and expression.
The other side of the name “asycd” was the fact it is pronounced “acid” again lending to our exploratory, life-enhanced ideals.
a vision for the future of custom décor
The tangibility of digital art is no longer an issue as we can print our art on canvases but why don’t people do this more. Why don’t people want to create their own stuff? That might be an ironic question given the use of AI trained on all these different artists work but I am being genuine.
The advent of technology allows us to create our own lives instead allowing corporations to do it for us.
That is one of the reasons we are pursuing canvas printing using generative AI. We want to showcase the ability to create your own work and share it with the world through canvases.
The canvas printing software is expected to launch in March 2024 and it will be partly be designed by Asycd but also a third party modern software designer.
